HKBU welcomes new colleagues at Orientation Day

As the new academic year begins, the Human Resources Office held the “Orientation Day for New Academic, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff” on 26 August, welcoming more than 60 new colleagues to HKBU. The event aimed to foster communication and connections among participants, as they embark on a new journey at the University.

Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Liu Jiming, Interim Provost; Professor Lyu Aiping, Vice-President (Research and Development) cum Dean of Graduate School; Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; and Professor Terence Lau, Interim Chief Innovation Officer, extended their warm welcome to the new staff, and shared the University’s strategic focus and latest developments. 

Representatives from the Office of Information Technology and the Office of Institutional Research and Planning were invited to introduce the University’s latest digital transformation strategies and to provide an overview of the University’s strategic direction and performance report, enabling the new colleagues to better adapt to their new environment.
