Seven HKBU first-year undergraduate students from the 2025/26 academic year have been awarded the 6th cohort of the AIA Scholarships, in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement and dedication to community service and charitable work. The 2026 Scholarship Presentation Ceremony, organised by the AIA Foundation, took place on 6 October.
The seven recipients are Chan Wing-yin (Social Work), Cheng Siu-ting (Public Relations and Advertising), Cheung Lok-ngai (Finance), Fong Hon-lam (History), Leung Lok-pui (Biochemical and Testing Sciences), Naina Manoj Ramchandani (Arts, Science and Technology), and Linus Wong (Music).
Professor Amy Lee, Director of Student Affairs, and Miss Winnie Li, Student Development Manager of the Scholarships & Financial Aid Unit of the Office of Student Affairs, attended the ceremony alongside Chan Ka-lo, HKBU graduate and recipient of the AIA Scholarships in the 3rd cohort. They joined the awardees and their parents celebrating this special occasion.
The ceremony also celebrated the graduation of the 3rd cohort of AIA Scholars and highlighted the progress of the “AIA Purpose in Action” initiative, with students sharing their experiences in voluntary service and the personal growth they achieved.
Launched in 2020, the AIA Scholarships has pledged US$100 million to support 100 undergraduate students annually over the coming decades. Each scholarship is valued at HK$50,000 per annum and is renewable, subject to the students’ performance. It also provides students with opportunities to participate in diverse enriching activities, ranging from community service and leadership development programmes. In the past six years, a total of 43 HKBU students have received the AIA Scholarships.
