The Leadership Qualities Centre of the Office of Student Affairs recruited 30 HKBU students to organise the “Volunteering@ Special Vacation for Primary School Students” programme from 10 March to 14 April. Around 240 primary three to six students joined the programme, which includes a series of courses and interactive games designed by HKBU students. A virtual HKBU campus tour led by HKBU students was held on 10 March. As the first learning activity of the programme, the campus tour enriched 130 primary students’ understanding of university life.

The programme aims to encourage HKBU students to respond to social needs proactively and promptly, and it also seeks to nurture their caring approach to the community. It also hopes to instil positive values in the primary school students and let them enjoy a fruitful and unforgettable holiday during the pandemic. The programme received an overwhelming response, and it obtained a large number of applications from primary school students in its first week of recruitment.

HKBU students in charge of the programme organised a total of 11 online sessions for participating primary school students, including a variety of courses and interactive games on positive thinking training, culture and the arts, social issues and innovative technology. Primary school students’ motivation to learn will be enhanced through the programme’s interesting interactive online activities.
