Professor Lee Daw-ming, Visiting Professor of the Academy of Film (AF), was selected as the winner of the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 13th Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival. He received the award in recognition of his lifelong contributions to the development of documentary films in Taiwan, including the aspects of production, academic research, education and promotion.

Over the past four decades, Professor Lee has been leading teams to produce many documentaries on Taiwan's history, politics and society, environmental protection efforts, and the life and culture of its indigenous people. His works, such as The Last Chieftain and Shattered Dreams, reflect the momentous changes in Taiwan before and after the lifting of martial law in the 1980s.

Meanwhile, Mr Ying Liang, Senior Lecturer of AF, won the Eye Catcher Special Mention Award for his documentary project The More, The Merrier at the Eye Catcher International Pitching Forum 2022, which was organised by the Renaissance Foundation in Hong Kong. The winning documentary project is about a group of young parents who run an alternative home-schooling centre on a farm in Yuen Long.
