In his address, Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, praised the three honorary doctoral degree recipients who have led extraordinary lives and inspired many with their exceptional achievements. “The respect they command comes not only from their talent and hard work, but also from their determination to stay true to their vocation against all odds. We all stand to learn from their unwavering and generous spirit,” he said.

The University’s 64th Commencement has conferred undergraduate degrees and higher degrees on around 8,600 graduates since 31 May this year. Professor Wai encouraged the graduates to embrace the emergence of technologies, and he said that regardless of the disciplines they graduated from, all graduates are technology users and can play a part in influencing how technologies are applied, thereby contributing to the growth and development of technology in various domains.
