The School of Business of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has won a world top 100 ranking for its Master of Science in Business Management (MScBM) programme in the Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) list for 2018. The MScBM programme is the first in Hong Kong to make it into the MiM ranking.

The ranking is based on a broad set of criteria, comprising responses from alumni and school data, including salary increase, career progression, faculty and student diversity, international experience and research. HKBU's MScBM programme is among the top 20 globally when it comes to the career progress of alumni and their average salary increase in the first three years after graduation.

"We are proud to be acknowledged as one of the world's best management programmes by the MiM ranking," said Professor Edward Snape, Dean of the HKBU School of Business. "Preparing students for career development in the competitive business world is at the core of what we do. We make sure our graduates are competitive with cutting-edge business knowledge and personal skills development. Our aim now is to build on this initial success by further developing the programme and ensuring that we continue to provide our graduates with a world-class education."

The London-based Financial Times MiM 2018 ranking places a strong emphasis on the success of alumni three years after graduation, as well as on the internationalisation and diversity of the School. The class of 2015 took the alumni survey this year, and the great majority suggested that completing the MScBM programme helped them achieve their goals, for example in terms of career advancement and international mobility. The HKBU's MScBM programme is designed to help junior business executives and fresh graduates seeking to enter or advance an executive business career. The programme's well-rounded curriculum covers traditional business disciplines, such as Accounting, Finance and Marketing, but also offers electives proposing different perspectives on business, such as Chinese Wisdom and Management, Business Creativity, Mediation, and Entrepreneurship. As well as graduates of business disciplines, non-business majors who wish to begin a business career are encouraged to apply.
