Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has invited Mr William Yeung Chu-kwong, Co-Owner and Executive Vice-Chairman of HKBN Group, and Mr Wong Kam-po and Mr Chan King-yin, Asian Games gold medalists, to speak at the two online "SEED Talks" to be held on 24 and 31 July respectively. They will share their success stories and provide tips on career development.
Since a young age, HKBU alumnus Mr William Yeung has always tried to stay agile and grasp every opportunity, as he believes that chance favours a prepared mind. By adopting an uncompromising attitude, and prioritising preparedness, he has transformed himself from a history graduate into a leader in the telecommunications industry. At the talk titled "5Ps - Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance" on 24 July, he will reveal his insights into how he prepares for the fast-changing telecommunications industry. He will also talk about how to grow, innovate and improve key skills and mindsets, which are vital to one's personal growth.
Mr Wong Kam-po, Programme Development Executive of the Sports Legacy Scheme, and Mr Chan King-yin, Head Windsurfing Coach of the Hong Kong Sports Institute and an HKBU alumnus, will share how they respectively pedalled to success and rode out the rough seas with relentless perseverance and hard work, and finally revelled in the joy of effort, at the talk on 31 July. As the pride of Hong Kong, the two retired athletes will also talk about their continued efforts in seeking a new direction, with the aim of contributing to the sports sector in a different role.
The two talks will be held at 4pm on 24 July and 31 July respectively, and are now open for online registration:

The SEED Talk series is one of the Project SEED initiatives launched by the University, and it aims to nurture Students through Engagement, Enhancement and Development. Foreseeing the grave difficulties the graduating cohort will encounter during the current economic downturn, HKBU has been exploring practical ways to support graduating students under Project SEED. In particular, the initiative focuses on four core areas, namely SEED Mentorship, SEED Jobs, SEED Internship, and SEED Incubator.
By engaging thought leaders and experienced advisors and mentors with rich knowledge from a diverse range of backgrounds and disciplines, the SEED Talk series aims to nourish HKBU students, improve their competency, and provide them with a more enriched outlook as they chart their path for a fulfilling and rewarding life.
