Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) expresses its heartiest congratulations to Cheung Ka-long, a member of the Fencing Team of Hong Kong, China, for his extraordinary feat of securing the gold medal in the Men’s Foil Team final together with his teammates at the FISU World University Games today (7 August). This exceptional victory signifies his second gold medal at the Games.
Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed immense pride in Ka-long’s achievement: “With his unwavering perseverance and determination, Ka-long has become the first Hong Kong athlete to scoop two gold medals in the World University Games this year. His exceptional performance has solidified his position as one of the world's top fencers, and we are all expecting him to reach new heights in the field of fencing.”
Ka-long is currently studying in the Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation Management programme at the University. He was one of the scholarship awardees under HKBU’s Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme in 2022.
