HKBU holds flag-raising ceremony on New Year’s Day

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) held a flag-raising ceremony on its campus today (1 January), joined by its Council and Court members, as well as senior management team members, alongside staff members, alumni and students.

The HKBU Student Flag-raising Team raised the national flag together with the Hong Kong SAR flag and the HKBU flag at the ceremony.

In his address at the ceremony, Mr Paul Poon, Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, stated that HKBU has made significant progress in various areas in the past year, covering teaching and learning, scientific research and innovation, as well as knowledge transfer.

He added, “Looking ahead to 2024, we will continue to shoulder the mission of nurturing future leaders, and guiding young people to gain a deeper understanding of the development trends of our nation and the world. We will remain committed to cultivating talents with international perspectives and leadership, and take solid steps in response to the expectations and aspirations of our nation in education.”
