HKBU congratulates Ho Yuen-kei on winning another gold medal at Paralympic Games

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) congratulates Ho Yuen-kei, a member of the Boccia Team, Hong Kong, China, for winning the gold medal together with her teammate in the Boccia Mixed Pairs BC3 event at the Paris Paralympic Games. It is her second gold medal at this Paralympic Games.

Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed his heartiest congratulations to Ho Yuen-kei, “Yuen-kei clinched two gold medals in a row at the same Paralympic Games. Attaining such an outstanding result at this top-notch international sports competition is truly remarkable, marking a historical moment for Hong Kong’s sports community. She showed exceptional courage, strived with uncompromised dedication, and demonstrated her team spirit whole-heartedly during the competitions. The entire HKBU community is immensely proud of her.”

“HKBU student and alumni athletes concluded their participation at this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games by winning a total of four medals, including three golds and one silver. The University will continue to provide comprehensive support to the athletes and strive for excellence in the area of sports science research in order to extend its positive contributions to the development of sports in Hong Kong,” said Professor Wai.

Ho Yuen-kei is an alumna of the Bachelor of Social Sciences in China Studies programme at HKBU. She has earlier won the gold medal in the Boccia Women’s Individual BC3 event at this year’s Paris Paralympic Games.
