HKBU Chinese Medicine Community Day on 1 May receives overwhelming response

The “HKBU Chinese Medicine Community Day” to be held by the School of Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) on Labour Day, 1 May, has received an overwhelming response. The free consultation quotas at the four HKBU Chinese medicine clinics in Prince Edward, Tsim Sha Tsui, Sheung Wan and North Point have now reached full capacity. The School has extended the initiative to the new clinic in Sha Tin, which will begin its trial operation from 1 May, with additional consultation slots available on the first day, offering free professional Chinese medicine health consultations and treatments. Participants will receive two dosages of basic Chinese medicine (granules).

Hong Kong Baptist University Shatin Fook Kwan Chinese Medicine Clinic is the latest addition to HKBU’s Chinese medicine clinics. It aims to provide convenient and high‑quality Chinese medicine services to the residents of the New Territories East. The clinic will begin trial operation from 1 May and will provide free consultation on the first day.

Professor Sun Feng, Director and Professor of Practice of the Clinical Division at the School of Chinese Medicine at HKBU, remarked: “The 25th anniversary of the Clinical Division of HKBU School of Chinese Medicine comes at an important moment in the development of Chinese medicine in the city. With the generous support of Famous Horse Holdings Limited, we are able to hold these free consultations again. Furthermore, the establishment of the HKBU Shatin Fook Kwan Chinese Medicine Clinic has been made possible through the donation of property by a benevolent supporter, allowing HKBU to provide accessible Chinese medicine services to the community.

“Over the past 25 years, we have remained committed to both clinical practice and teaching in Chinese medicine, nurturing countless professionals in the field and bringing the wisdom of Chinese medicine to the community through free consultations. We hope this event will help more people appreciate the unique strengths of Chinese medicine in preventive care and chronic disease management, while promoting Chinese medicine culture and public health,” he said.
