Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and China Resources Longdation Co Ltd (CR Longdation) signed an agreement today (10 July), under which 205 bed spaces will be provided for HKBU students at CR Longdation’s Brim Youth Student Accommodation (Brim Youth) in Kwai Chung to meet students’ growing housing demand.
The agreement was signed by Professor Amy Lee, Director of Student Affairs of HKBU and Mr Ng Eric Fai-yeung, General Manager, Asset Management Platform of CR Longdation, and witnessed by Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) of HKBU and Ms Wan Suet-fei, President of CR Longdation.
According to the agreement, CR Longdation’s Brim Youth will provide all 120 residential units located on five floors exclusively to HKBU students, including 35 single rooms and 85 twin rooms, accommodating a total of 205 students in the academic year of 2026-27. In addition to comfortable living spaces, Brim Youth offers a range of supporting facilities, including a study room, a gymnasium, a dance studio, a cinema room and a games room. HKBU and CR Longdation will jointly organise activities within the residence to foster interaction and further enrich the students’ learning and residential life experience.
Student residents at Brim Youth can walk for about ten minutes to the Kwai Hing MTR Station, or take shuttle buses to the Kwai Fong and Kowloon Tong MTR Stations. Brim Youth will operate a free shuttle bus service providing direct access to HKBU’s Kowloon Tong campus with a journey time of approximately 20 minutes, offering HKBU students additional commuting convenience.
Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) of HKBU, stated in his remarks that, supported by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)’s “Study in Hong Kong” policy, the number of non-local students attracted to pursuing their studies in Hong Kong has increased substantially. HKBU has been committed to providing students with the best learning experience and environment. The signing of the agreement with China Resources Longdation can effectively help relieve students’ keen demand for hostel accommodation in a timely manner.
Ms Wan Suet-fei, President of CR Longdation, said the partnership marks an important step in supporting youth development. It also responds to the HKSAR Government’s initiative to build Hong Kong into an international education hub and establish the “Study in Hong Kong” brand. Leveraging its asset management and operational expertise, CR Longdation will develop Brim Youth into a safe, quality and cosy student living community. Drawing on its corporate resources, it will create opportunities for students to learn, connect and develop together, turning the residence into a “second classroom” that accompanies young people in their growth. Through this collaboration, CR Longdation hopes to work with its partners to advance university–enterprise collaboration in nurturing future talent.
