To celebrate the 77th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), with the support from the Wofoo Foundation, will hold the “Celebrating the National Day - Wofoo and HKBUCM Free Consultation Day” for the second consecutive year. Five HKBU Chinese medicine clinics will provide free Chinese medicine services on 1 October, and each participant can receive either a Chinese medicine consultation, which includes two dosages of basic Chinese medicine prescriptions (herbs or granules), or a treatment service. Approximately 1,000 people are expected to benefit.
The five designated HKBU clinics are located in Prince Edward, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Shatin and North Point. Registration is now open on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the public can make appointments through the online booking system, by phone, or in person at the five designated clinics.
On the event day, HKBU School of Chinese Medicine – Lui Seng Chun will also offer free Chinese herbal tea and guided tours to help the public learn more about the culture and history of Chinese medicine.
Professor Yang Junjun, Acting Director and Professor of Practice of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine at HKBU, stated, “On the occasion of HKBU’s 70th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine, we are once again holding the free consultation on National Day, which is especially meaningful. This year, the free consultation continues to receive generous support from the Wofoo Foundation, enabling us to bring professional Chinese medicine into the community. The free consultation not only provides Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment services but also deepens the public’s understanding of Chinese medicine health preservation concepts, encouraging the community to pay early attention to their health and develop more proactive health management habits.”
Established in 1997 by Dr Joseph Lee, the Wofoo Foundation is dedicated to serving society under the belief “Harmony brings a family prosperity, cohesion makes a nation wealthy”.
In addition to the National Day Free Consultation Day, the HKBU Chinese medicine clinics are also offering the “HKBU Chinese Medicine 25th Anniversary Bone Setting/ Acupuncture Treatment Discount” from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, providing added benefits to the public. Under this promotion, holders of designated bank credit cards can enjoy a 10% discount on treatment fees, while some HKBU staff, their family members, students, and group members are also eligible for a discount.
