HKBU congratulates Lau Chi-lung on winning silver medal in Men’s Nanquan and Nangun at Asian Games

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) congratulates Lau Chi-lung, a member of the Wushu Team of Hong Kong, China, on winning the silver medal in the Men’s Nanquan and Nangun event today (22 September) at the 20th Asian Games.

Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Lau Chi-lung: “Nanquan and Nangun require explosive power and coordination. Competing in the Asian Games for the second time, Chi-lung completed both routines in a single day and achieved an excellent result through his outstanding physical fitness, consistent performance and mental resilience. His achievement fully demonstrates the rewards of years of dedicated training and the indomitable spirit of an athlete. He has not only brought glory to Hong Kong, China, but has also greatly inspired the HKBU community and made us immensely proud.”

Lau Chi-lung was admitted to HKBU under the Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme, and is currently a Year 4 student in the Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Recreation Management programme.
