HKBU has received a generous donation of HK$3 million from Mr Cheng Chak-kuen, Chairman of Dongguan Xingye Trade Development Company Limited, in support of its Extended Study Programme in the Greater Bay Area. This programme enables students from HKBU and Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University to study across campuses. It also provides internship opportunities at leading enterprises and diverse experiential activities to expand students’ horizons and prepare them for their future career prospects.

Mr Cheng, a self-made entrepreneur with a passion for philanthropy, is devoted to promoting national development and Chinese traditional culture. As an Honorary University Fellow of HKBU and Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, he has been a steadfast supporter of the University’s strategic development. His contributions have benefited numerous HKBU initiatives, including the Chinese Medicine Clinical Research Fund, the Emergency Financial Relief Fund, and various scholarships and bursaries, creating a lasting impact for both students and the wider community.
