At the 18th Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony held on 21 September, HKBU honoured seven distinguished persons, namely Dr Sunny Chai Ngai-chiu, the Hon Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, Ms Leonie Ki Man-fung, Mr Arthur Lee Kin, Mr Mongkolchai Mavichien, Professor Alexander B Murphy and Mr Sunny Wong Hak-kun, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to a wide variety of areas and their support of society.
In his address at the Ceremony, Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged the seven Honorary University Fellowship recipients as well-respected and renowned leaders in their professional fields and in society. They have made challenges look easy, focused on finding solutions, stayed positive and resilient, risen above difficulties and achieved extraordinary success. Their experience and achievements are a valuable source of inspiration for all.
Speaking on behalf of the Honorary University Fellows, the Hon Kenneth Fok Kai-kong thanked HKBU for conferring Honorary University Fellowships upon them. He said that this year’s recipients come from a diverse background, but have one thing in common. They all proudly represent their fields and strive to make a difference. He also expressed gratitude to everyone at HKBU, who have worked tirelessly over the past decades to nurture young people, teaching them to care, to be creative, to have a global perspective in search of not only academic excellence but to be a better person, a contributor to society.
