A HKBU student startup team recently won the first runner-up prize at the A.I. Future Tense InnoTech Solutions Pitching competition with their project Foodi, which is an app that uses artificial intelligence to make personalised food recommendations.
The team comprises students from the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM), the Department of Economics and the Department of Communication Studies, under the supervision of Dr Zhang Shiping, an Associate Professor from SCM. They were inspired by the University’s initiatives to build strengths in data analytics and artificial intelligence.
The competition was organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups as part of the HSBC Future Skills Development Project.
