The School of Chinese Medicine and the Knowledge Transfer Office participated in the Virtual InnoCarnival 2020 to showcase the University’s knowledge transfer achievements.

The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) and the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) showcased the University’s knowledge transfer achievements and promoted Chinese medicine with the theme “Creativity, Innovation, Research Excellence & Chinese Medicine Wisdom” at the Virtual InnoCarnival 2020. The online exhibition was organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission from 23 to 31 December 2020.

KTO introduced the basic concepts and impacts of the University’s latest patented inventions including the OH Furniture × OHO Jewellery Collection, Quality Control Markers for Use in Herbs Authentication, and Smart Compounds for Cancer Cells Diagnosis. The exhibits fostered public understanding of the new inventions, aroused the community’s interest in local innovative technologies, and inspired young people’s creativity.

To educate the public on disease prevention and health management from the Chinese medicine perspective, SCM offered a variety of edutainment activities, health services and practical health tips to visitors. They included an interactive game zone, the Chinese medicine practitioner (CMP)’s mailbox, a virtual tour of the Chinese medicine museum, and an online meeting with CMPs for senior citizens aged 60 or above.
