Jockey Club Campus of Creativity honoured at Green Building Award 2021

23 May 2022

The development of HKBU’s forthcoming Jockey Club Campus of Creativity was presented with the Merit Award under the “New Buildings Category: Projects Under Construction and/or Design – Institutional” at the Green Building Award 2021.

The new complex, which will be completed by 2024, will be a vertically configured campus that integrates teaching and learning, residential and social spaces. The four blocks of student residences will be situated at different levels of the campus, and this creates a variation of building heights that allows greater natural ventilation and improves building permeability. The campus will also feature open spaces, including roof gardens at different levels for various outdoor activities and a central sky courtyard plaza that connects to other HKBU buildings. Energy-efficient and energy conservation measures will be adopted in the new complex to promote sustainability on campus.

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC), the biannual Green Building Award aims to recognise and commend the excellence and contributions made by organisations and projects towards a sustainable built environment. The eighth edition was held in April this year, and the Award was themed “Shaping Liveability • Excellence in Sustainable Built Environment”.
