Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) held its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions today (22 October), attracting over 15,000 secondary school students, parents and teachers. This year the Information Day was held in both face-to-face and online format. By taking part in a variety of activities through in-person visits to HKBU’s Kowloon Tong Campus or the online platform, participants gathered the latest information on admissions and programmes, and gained better understanding of the University’s learning environment, learning and teaching facilities, and campus life.

More than 1,000 students, parents and teachers attended the four large-scale admissions talks online or in person on the Information Day, which were tailored for secondary school students sitting the HKDSE, students with international qualifications, associate degree and higher diploma students and holders, and students who are interested in applying for admission through the new “Students with Exceptional Talent Direct Admission Scheme” (SETDAS) respectively.  Participants took the opportunity to engage in useful dialogues with teachers from faculties/schools, and received first-hand information on admissions.

HKBU’s seven faculties/schools and the Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes, which was established for the four transdisciplinary programmes, offered more than 60 briefing sessions, including programme talks, thematic talks, workshops, as well as laboratory and facilities tours. Participants were very enthusiastic and keen to obtain in-depth understanding of HKBU’s diverse learning experience and facilities for learning and teaching.

The Visualisation Research Centre recently established by HKBU, which combines art and technology and is equipped with cutting-edge audio-visual research facilities, was opened to the public for the first time on the Information Day. Participants were excited about the opportunity to visit the Centre’s facilities, including the virtual reality, digital heritage and interactive cinema.

The videos of the large-scale admissions talks and programme talks of the facilities/schools will be uploaded on the HKBU Information Day website (https://infoday.hkbu.edu.hk). Students, parents and teachers are welcome to review the talks.
