HKBU is partnering with the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association in the first large-scale Chinese medicine mental health community project. With a generous donation of HK$70.95 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the “Jockey Club Traditional Chinese Medicine-driven Mental Wellness Project” aims to address the prevalence of common mental health issues.

A research team led by Professor Qiu Jianwen, Associate Head of the Department of Biology at HKBU, has made another discovery of new marine species, with two new species of windowpane shell identified at Mai Po, Hong Kong and in the South China Sea. This discovery reaffirms the University’s commitment to sustainable development and ocean conservation.
